The Short Version

We don’t sell your information

The campaign does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone — full stop.

Forms come straight to us

When you volunteer, request a yard sign, endorse, or join the email list, that information goes to the campaign and the tools we use to run it.

This site can estimate your mailing address

We work with a mail provider that tries to match visits to a household address so we can send campaign mail. It doesn’t learn your name or email from browsing.

You can ask us to stop

Email us any time to be removed from our lists, our mail, or both. We’ll take care of it.

Section 1

Information You Give Us

Every form on this site is optional. You can read the whole website, learn about Judge Valentine’s record, and find your ballot drop box without giving us anything at all.

Donations

Contributions are handled on our donate page by Anedot, our compliance-focused donation processor. Your payment details go directly to Anedot and their payment processors — the campaign never sees or stores your card number. Anedot’s own privacy policy governs what they collect. Contribution records are also subject to public reporting; see below.
Section 2

Collected Automatically

Like most websites, this one collects some technical information as you browse. Here is every tool we run and what each one does.
Matching visits to mailing addresses

We use a third-party direct-mail provider, loaded through Google Tag Manager, that attempts to match visits to this website with a household postal mailing address so the campaign can send you information about the election. This is the same kind of tool many businesses and campaigns use, but we’d rather you hear it from us directly.

  • What it receives: the pages you view on this site, the page that referred you, your approximate location and time zone, your browser, device and screen size, and any campaign tags in the link you clicked.
  • What it does not receive: your name, email address, phone number, or anything you type into a form on this site.
  • What we get back: mailing addresses — not browsing histories — which we use only to send campaign mail.
  • How to stop it: email us at the address below and we’ll remove you from our mail list, or block third-party scripts and cookies in your browser before visiting.
Site Analytics
Vercel Web Analytics
What it collects
Page views, referring site, and general device type — counted in aggregate.
Where it goes
Vercel, our website host. It uses no cookies and does not build a profile of you.
Embedded Content
Facebook · Anedot
What it collects
Our Connect page embeds our Facebook feed, and our Donate page embeds Anedot’s form.
Where it goes
Meta and Anedot receive a request when those load, and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
Your Display Setting
Stored on your device
What it collects
Which color theme you picked for the site.
Where it goes
Nowhere. It stays in your own browser and is never sent to us.
Section 3

How We Use It

We use the information above to run a local judicial campaign — nothing more. Specifically:
  • To answer you, deliver a yard sign, or follow up on an offer to help.
  • To send campaign updates and voting reminders you asked for.
  • To mail information about the election to Grays Harbor County households.
  • To review and, with your permission, publish endorsements.
  • To process contributions and meet Washington’s campaign reporting requirements.
  • To understand which pages voters find useful, so we can improve the site.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with other campaigns, committees, or political organizations. We share it only with the service providers named on this page, who use it to perform work for us, and where we are required to by law.

Section 4

What Becomes Public

Two things are worth calling out clearly, because they leave the campaign’s hands.
Endorsements
If you submit an endorsement, a person on the campaign reviews it first — nothing posts automatically. If we publish it, your name, city, title, and statement may appear on this website and in campaign materials. We do not publish your email address or phone number. Ask us to take yours down at any time and we will.
Contributions
Washington law requires campaigns to publicly report their contributors. Depending on the amount you give, your name, address, and — above certain thresholds — your employer and occupation are reported to the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission, where they become public record searchable at pdc.wa.gov. This is a legal requirement for every campaign in the state, and it is not something we can opt you out of.
Section 5

Your Choices

  • Unsubscribe from email. Use the link at the bottom of any email we send, or just reply and ask.
  • Stop the mail. Email us and we’ll remove your address from our mailing list.
  • Ask what we have, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we’ll tell you what we hold and remove it on request, except for records we’re legally required to keep.
  • Take down your endorsement. Just ask — no explanation needed.
  • Control it in your browser. Blocking third-party cookies and scripts, or using private browsing, will prevent most of the automatic collection described above.
Section 6

The Fine Print

How long we keep it

We keep what you give us for as long as the campaign needs it, and we keep contribution and committee records for as long as Washington law requires. After that, we delete it.

Security

This site is served over an encrypted connection, and submissions travel to our providers over encrypted connections. No website can promise perfect security, but we limit who on the campaign can see your information and we don’t keep what we don’t need.

Children

This website is meant for voters and is not directed to children. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this notice

If we add or remove a tool that collects information, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top.

Questions?

Just ask us

A real person on the campaign reads this inbox. If you want to know what we have, or want us to remove you from a list, that’s all it takes.
